"I took great joy in slowly unwrapping her from the carefully placed cloths. She put a smile on my face straight away. ..... With the egg that she is carrying and her serene expression she brings such peacefulness and hope. For this reason, I have decided to give her to my very dear friend, as she really needs this little person with all that she has to give. I know my friend will truly love her and appreciate her message. ..."
Her email really touched me for a personal reason.
I hope the bell person will also put a smile on her friend's face and brings her a sense of peace, hope and inner strength. I really needed those three when my life went up side down 4 years ago, living in fear alone with a baby. Going back to making art was my way to heal and get my strength and my 'self' back. How wonderful when people like this dear customer feels or gets what these little people are made with and the bell person will even travel further to the one in need. I truly love the connections that these little bell people make it happen sometimes. Such experience makes my work worth keep going for me :)
I know I will have a good sleep tonight... :)
Erin
Your work is so truly of the heart - and a mending of the heart - I feel mended just by seeing them. The deeper, wordless stories they whisper are rich with spirit-balm. I love that they also know where they are meant to go... as the one this woman bought knew to keep going to her true destination - magical. :)
ReplyDeleteValerianna thank you. I really appreciate your comment...:)
DeleteIt is such a beautiful gift when someone takes the trouble to let you know how your work makes you feel. And it's true, art can pull you through the toughest of times :) Enjoy your sleep!
ReplyDeleteYes Suzie I agree with you that it is such a beautiful gift - it means so much to the ones who made the works when people kindly take time and effort to let us know... like Jill's message about you gorgeous little sculpture:)
DeleteDear Erin, when I hold something you made in my hands, my feelings are joyful. It's the love you put into your work, and it shows. This person who shares with you the feelings she had when she opened your package, she is giving back the joy and spreading it onward when she gifts it to a friend in need. It takes a special person who is able to do all that--you.
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind Dawn! Thank you:) How so lovely that you feel joyful with them....!

Dear Erin,
ReplyDeleteI just agree with the others, your work is so very touching and full of love!
And beautiful!
It is never just naive, to feel much more in it.
So interesting what you share here with us.
(by the way I was alone with my first child, too, it was a time in my life when I was very sad.)
Always a pleasure to look at your art.
