Drawing Challenge - Pompons

This is part of Stefanie's Drawing challenge  "Pompon and/or skirt"   - sorry for not being on time!  I was away from home for a week and just could not upload photos earlier. So here they are. No drawings but just photos from this visit to Sydney. It was a visit to real Autumn!!  Brrrr.....

 Stayed some nights at another dear friend's place. The view from her window is the blue Pacific ocean. Just gorgeous! I found more "pompons" here too :)

The day before leaving for this holidays, I received this unexpected 

beautiful handmade gift from my blog friend Vibeke. It was so overwhelming - LOVE IT!

Catching ups with friends, coffees, walks together in our favourite suburbs, discovering new interesting shops, more stops at book shops and more coffees, enjoying the sun and the great company... Oh how I miss living in Sydney...!!  

Very cold winds but a heart warming visit seeing old friends's friendly faces and many "pompons" wherever I went!! :)

A lady in a soft and light bird body

I have been trying to combine two of my favourite mediums clay and fibre for a while but have only made a few. here in a previous post and here.


When I woke up this morning, I tested fitting this newly fired porcelain head that came out of the kiln yesterday with a wet-felted body made years ago.  I like it! Both head and body are hollow and very light - just like a bird.


These are some quick photos taken before going to work this morning. I think the combination of my subtle painting, pure white porcelain and soft white sheep wool worked well to create her gentle presence. She made my day :)

Some work done last few days. More heads designed to be moveable by their necks.
Not sure where they are going to take me...but I am quite happy in this new journey!!
